About Me

Since early 2016, I’ve been an independent writer specializing in climate, science, and innovation. Before that, I co-managed a microsite about energy for five years at National Geographic. And before that, I was a staffer at NPR, AOL, and other media organizations.

Every content publisher today, whether it’s a media outlet, a research organization, or a major corporation, competes in a daunting landscape. Breaking through is increasingly difficult, and falling flat is far too easy. I help ensure that what you say models the voice and quality your brand name promises.

I care about pulling a reader in. I care about turning topics that might seem esoteric into stories that feel immediate and real. I care about satisfying both an audience and my clients. I also care about less snazzy but equally important things such as accuracy, consistency, delivering on deadline, communicating clearly, and watching the serial commas (or lack thereof, depending on the style guide) when writing a list like this.

In addition to storytelling, my experience includes editing, content strategy, editorial planning, custom/sponsored content, social media promotions, and e-newsletters. I live near Washington, D.C., and get out to the Colorado Rockies as much as possible. My company is certified as a Women-Owned Small Business by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program. I am a member of the National Association of Science Writers, which recognized my work with an award in 2022.

If you have a story you want told, and you want it to be as engaging as it is on-target, please contact me.
